Abstract:
The present invention relates to an apparatus for cooling and load-compensating a ram spindle and a machine tool including same, wherein the apparatus cools a friction portion between the ram spindle and a saddle by using a cooling unit when the ram spindle which is transported in a box guideways manner is thermally deformed, and when the load of a gib is changed due to the thermal deformation of the ram spindle even by the cooling unit, the apparatus automatically compensates, through a closed hydraulic circuit, for the load caused in a plurality of gibs which are respectively installed on an inner side of the saddle to correspond in a horizontal direction or a vertical direction between the saddle and the ram spindle, except for a reference surface to which the ram spindle is adhered, so as to automatically maintain a constant surface pressure exerted on the gibs. Accordingly, the machining precision of the machine tool may be improved, machining costs may be reduced by preventing the waste of resources, productivity may be improved by increasing the non-machining time, and the stability and reliability of the machine tool may be improved.
