Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to provide an area differentiation device with which it is possible to differentiate areas with high precision in real time, regardless of whether an image is in color or black and white. This area differentiation device has: a feature amount derivation means for dividing an inputted image into local areas, and for each local area, deriving one or more feature amounts that can be derived on the basis of pixel information of the image; and an observation object area determination means for comparing the derived feature amount to a reference for determining an observation object area set with a prescribed dictionary, and determining for each local area whether the local area is an observation object area.
