Abstract:
An assembly system, for constructing, for example, wall units, show-case cabinets, frames or exhibition systems from sheet-like components, possesses corner elements as well as stretchable connecting components which connect the corner elements by means of appropriate coupling means in such a way that the sheet-like components are completely enclosed by the corner elements and connecting components. The coupling means are preferably embodied as snapping means, which snapping means can be decoupled by compression of the connecting components near their extremities, the connecting components being manufactured from an elastic material, which compression results in motion of cams contained in the snapping means toward one another and decoupling of corner elements and connecting components. This guarantees speedy assembly and disassembly of the furniture.
