Abstract:
[Problem] To provide an automatic appliance-activating device that makes it possible to reduce the length of time for which a user has to wait, when operating a handheld information appliance, for said handheld information appliance to enter an active state. [Solution] This invention is provided with the following: a contact vibration sensor (101) provided with one or more conductive spheres (1021); a connection terminal (104) that is used to removably connect to a handheld information appliance (20); and an activation-instruction output unit (105) that outputs an activation instruction to the handheld information appliance (20) via the connection terminal (104) when the vibration sensor (101) detects vibration.
