Abstract:
An automatic system for using a vehicle seat belt comprises a seat belt with a take-in device securely attached on one side of the seat, a receiving buckle for the seat belt insert on the opposite side of seat, a guide rail, and a sliding unit which is displaced along the guide rail by a drive unit and is attached to the seat belt guide fitting. At least part of the guide rail is moveable in relation to the seat to ensure that the seat belt follows the desired path, while the guide rail in its operating position engages at one of its ends with the seat belt receiving buckle.
