Abstract:
According to the present invention, an autonomous travel control system has a processor, can communicate with a center, and controls an autonomous travel device that can travel autonomously. The processor determines whether to allow switching of control modes that include an autonomous travel mode, a stop mode, and a user operation mode and detects external abnormalities that occur outside the autonomous travel device. When no external abnormality has been detected, the determination of whether to allow the switching includes allowing switching from the stop mode to the user operation mode upon acquisition of permission from the center related to switching from the stop mode to the user operation mode. When an external abnormality has been detected, the determination of whether to allow the switching includes allowing switching from the stop mode to the user operation mode even when permission has not been acquired.
