Abstract:
Provided is an axial piston device which can be used as a hydraulic motor and a hydraulic pump for a hydrostatic continuously variable transmission device, wherein noise is suppressed. A port block 3 has: a supply/discharge port surface 15 that a cylinder block contacts while rotating; first ports 11, 12, 13; and second ports 21, 22, 23. Recesses 18, 19 are formed in the supply/discharge port surface 15 so as to extend towards the upstream side in the rotation direction A1 of the cylinder block from one of the first ports 11, 13 and second ports 21, 23 positioned on the downstream side in the rotation direction A1 of the cylinder block relative to at least one of a first dead center position 16 and a second dead center position 17.
