Abstract:
Provided are a ball bearing that has excellent heat resistance and can be manufactured at a low cost and a method for manufacturing this ball bearing. Surface processing by means of laser cladding is carried out in the circumferential direction on the outer circumferential surface of an inner ring 2 to form an annular first buildup layer 71 on which a plurality of balls 4 can make contact and roll in the circumferential direction (first buildup layer formation step). Surface processing by means of laser cladding is carried out in the circumferential direction on the inner circumferential surface of an outer ring 3 to form an annular second buildup layer 62 on which the plurality of balls 4 can make contact and roll in the circumferential direction (second buildup layer formation step).
