This base station comprises: a transmission unit for transmitting a signal that is associated with an index and contains a synchronization signal and broadcast information to a plurality of wireless relay devices; and a control unit for controlling operations related to the transmission of the signal associated with the index. The control unit configures the signal associated with the index on the basis of the number of wireless relay devices.
