Abstract:
A battery module (1) includes: a cell stacked body (2) in which a plurality of battery cells (2a) are stacked in a prescribed stacking direction (Do); a pair of end plates (3) arranged on both end surfaces, in the stacking direction (Do), of the cell stacked body (2); and an intermediate plate (4) arranged in an intermediate portion, in the stacking direction (Do), of the cell stacked body (2). The intermediate plate (4) comprises: a pair of principal surfaces (4a) opposing the battery cells (2a); a plurality of side surfaces (4b) joining outer edges of the principal surfaces (4a) together; and a recessed portion (4d) extending in an intersecting direction (Dw) intersecting the stacking direction (Do), in at least one of the plurality of side surfaces (4b).
