Abstract:

The present invention provides a technology capable of sensing a swelling phenomenon of a battery cell more effectively in regard to a battery pack comprising one or more battery cells. A battery pack according to an aspect of the present invention comprises: at least one battery cell; an optical fiber sensing unit including a planar sensing unit configured by optical fibers arranged horizontally and vertically in a grid form, wherein the planar sensing unit of the optical fiber sensing unit is deformed by the deformation of the battery cell; a photoresistor for collecting light reflected from the optical fiber sensing unit; and a control unit configured to determine whether the battery cell has swelled up on the basis of a resistance value which depends on a change in the light quantity of the light collected by the photoresistor.
