Abstract:

A bearing device for a wheel, whose production costs can be reduced, which is not affected by the material of a mating member on which the bearing device is installed, and which has raceway surfaces with a predetermined hardness. The bearing device for a wheel has an inner shaft (1), an outer ring (2) disposed around the inner shaft (1), and two rows of balls (3a, 3b) arranged between the inner shaft (1) and the outer ring (2) so as to be in angular contact with the two elements. Annular raceway members (4) with a curved cross-sectional shape are provided on an outer peripheral surface (11) of the inner shaft (1) and an inner peripheral surface (12) of the outer ring (2), and the annular raceway members (4) are separate members from the inner shaft (1) and the outer ring (2) and have raceway surfaces for the rolling bodies.
