Abstract:

[PROBLEMS] To provide a bearing device for a wheel capable of securing the rigidity and strength of a bearing itself and also securing a specified axial force and a crimped part strength by optimizing the pushed-in amount of an inner ring by crimping. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] In this bearing device for the wheel, the inner ring (3) is press-fitted to the small diameter step part (2b) of a hub wheel (2) to fix the inner ring (3) to the hub wheel (2) in a held state between a crimped part (2c) formed by plastically deforming the end part of the small diameter step part in the radial outer direction and a step part (11) formed on the hub wheel (2). The thickness e of the abutted part (3c) of the inner ring (3) is set within the range of 5 to 20% of the inner diameter (d) of the inner ring (3). Thus, the rigidity and strength of the bearing itself can be secured and the specified axial force and crimped part strength of the bearing device can be secured by optimizing the pushed-in amount of the inner ring by crimping.
