Abstract:
Bearing parts which are produced by employing, as the raw material, a steel containing a reduced amount of alloying elements, and which can ensure high fracture toughness values and exhibit sufficient wear resistance. An outer ring (21), an inner ring (22), and rollers (23) are configured from a steel which contains 0.15 to 0.3mass% of C, 0.15 to 0.7mass% of Si, and 0.15 to 1.0mass% of Mn with the balance being iron and impurities. In regions including the rolling surfaces (21A, 22A, 23A), carbon-rich layers (21B, 22B, 23B) and nitrogen-rich layers (21D, 22D, 23D) are formed. The nitrogen concentrations at the rolling surfaces (21A, 22A, 23A) included in the nitrogen-rich layers (21D, 22D, 23D) are 0.3mass% or higher.
