Abstract:
This invention provides a black resin composition for a display element, which can realize a high optical density even in the case of a relatively low light shielding material content and can realize a high optical density even in a thin film form, and a member for a display element which can reduce uneven display derived from a level difference due to the film thickness of a black resin composition in a pixel part. The black resin composition for a display element comprises at least black titanium oxynitride and a curable binder system. The black titanium oxynitride is represented by formula TiNxOy·nSiO2, wherein x and y are a real number of more than 0 and less than 2 and n is 0 ≤ n ≤ 0.05, contains a nitrogen atom represented by N in an amount of not less than 17% by weight and less than 23% by weight, has a specific surface area in the range of 5 to 30 m2/g and has a crystallite diameter of 17 to 25 nm as measured with an X-ray diffractometer. The member for a display element comprises a light shielding layer formed using the black resin composition.
