Title:
BONDED FLUX AND WIRE FOR SUBMERGED ARC WELDING
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2013/024698
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A bonded flux and wire for submerged arc welding capable of obtaining a welded metal having a 0.2% yield strength of 690 MPa or higher, a tensile strength of 780 MPa or higher, and an excellent low-temperature toughness of 69 J or more of absorbed energy at -60°C are provided by optimizing the flux composition and the wire composition. The flux includes 0.10 to 0.40 mass% of metal Ca, 0.3 to 1.0 mass% of metal Si, 0.10 to 0.80 mass% of metal Al, and 2.0 to 5.0 mass% of alkali metals Na, K, Li as a total of values converted to oxides of Na, K, and Li, respectively; and has a ratio ([Al] + [Si] + [Ca])/[SiO2] of 0.04 to 0.15. The wire has a ratio of [Ni]/([Mn] + [Mo]) of 0.4 to 1.7.
