This invention relates to boots with connectable trousers. The component parts of the invention could be made from a variety of resiliently flexible materials such as rubber P.V.C. Neopreen.
Wellington boots are well known items of wateφroof footwear. Waterproof trousers or leggings are also well known protective clothing.
Wellington boots, however, do not protect against mud or water above the top of the boot. When worn with protective or wateφroof trousers if the boot is submerged water will enter the boot between the top and the trouser leg.
According to the present invention there is provided. In combination, a pair of trousers and a pair of boots, the pair of trousers having a pair of leg portions each having towards a lower end a formation for retention by a cooperating formation provided on one of the boots such that a seal is formed around the periphery of each leg portion.
A specific embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example with reference to the accompanying drawing in which :-

Referring to the drawing the boot with connecting trouser comprises a boot 10 trouser leg 12 and a connecting collar 14.
In order to connect the trouser leg 12 to the boot 10 via collar 14, the two flip up tabs 15 and the outer flip up collar 16 have to be in the down position as shown in fig. 1.
The trouser leg 12 with integral peripherally exending rib 17 is lowered, down onto the collar 14, over the flanges 19 as shown in fig. 2.
In order to connect on a wateφroof method, the trouser leg 12 to the boot 10 using the connecting collar 14. The two tabs 15 and the outer collar 16 are pulled upward to flip over the trouser leg 12 and integral rib 17, in an elasticated fashion as illustrated in fig. 3 and fig 4.
The rib 17 provides a feature at the bottom of the trouser leg 12 for the outer collar 16 and shoulder 18 to firmly grip onto against the collar 14 as shown in fig 4.
The tight elasticated snap fit between the collar 14 and the outer collar 16, when pulled in the up position via the tabs 15, encapsulates trouser leg 12 and the rib 17 against the flanges 19 and collar 14 providing a wateφroof seal as shown in fig. 3 and fig 4.
To remove the trousers 12 from the boot 10 and collar 14 pull the outer collar 16 down using the tabs as 15 as shown in fig. 2 and then pull to remove the trouser leg 12 from the collar 14 as shown in fig. 1.
In a more basic version of the product the flanges 19 are ommited from the inner collar 14 and the outer collar 16 does not have shoulder 18.
