Abstract:
Disclosed is a brake device which achieves an improvement in the response of braking force at the time of sudden braking. The configuration comprises a brake pedal (22) which is operated by a driver, a reaction force spring (23) which generates pedal reaction force, an input rod (24), a master cylinder (25) which generates fluid pressure according to the amount of displacement of the input rod (24), a damper (26) which varies the magnitude of force to be transmitted to the input rod (24) according to the speed of displacement of the brake pedal (22), a pedal displacement sensor (27) which detects the amount of displacement of a pedal, a fluid pressure actuator (28) which generates fluid pressure, and a fluid pressure sensor (29) which detects the fluid pressure of the downstream side from the fluid pressure actuator (28). At the time of sudden braking, force inputted to the brake pedal (22) via the damper (26) is transmitted to the input rod (24), and fluid pressure is generated in the master cylinder (25), so that larger braking force can be outputted more rapidly than when the fluid pressure actuator (28) alone is operated.
