Abstract:
Provided is a catheter which is provided with a portion which can be connected and disconnected and which has high operability. A catheter (1) is provided with: a sheath (2) which is to be inserted into a lumen; a drive shaft (42) which is inserted in the sheath (2) and which transmits mechanical drive force; an image information obtaining section (411) which is affixed to the distal end of the drive shaft (42) and which obtains image information; a hub (31) which moves the drive shaft (42) in the axial direction of the sheath (2) by moving while holding the drive shaft (42); an outer tube (32) which is provided on the proximal end side of the sheath (2) and which is provided with a first connector (372) at the proximal end thereof; a second connector (35) which is provided on the proximal end side of the outer tube (32) and which is provided with a male connector section (352) capable of being connected to and disconnected from the first connector (372); and an inner tube (34) which is provided on the distal end side of the hub (31), moves relative to the outer tube (32) within the outer tube (32) as the hub (31) moves, and is provided with an engagement section (341) at the distal end thereof, the engagement section (341) being not capable of passing through the inside of the second connector (35).
