Abstract:
The present invention relates to the technical field of batteries, particularly provides a cell module and a battery pack comprising the cell module, and aims to solve the problem of great losses caused by substances possibly erupting from multiple edge seals when thermal runaway occurs in existing battery cells. For this purpose, the cell module of the present invention comprises a plurality of cells, a busbar electrically connected to tabs of each cell, and explosion-proof layers. The cell comprises first edge seals and second edge seals, the tabs being located at the first edge seals. The explosion-proof layers coat the two first edge seals, the tabs, the portion of the busbar connected to the tabs, and one of the two second edge seals, so as to prevent substances from erupting from the portions coated with the explosion-proof layers when thermal runaway occurs in the cells. Arranging the explosion-proof layers for constraining the edge seals of the cells can ensure that the eruption caused by thermal runaway of the cells is directional, thereby helping to effectively control the thermal runaway of the cells and reducing losses.
