Abstract:
Novel compounds represented by general formulae (I) and (II), and ultraviolet shielding cosmetic containing the same. In formula (I), R1 represents hydrogen or hydroxyl, and R2 represents C2 or higher alkoxy, perfluorinated lower alkyl or fluorine. In formula (II), R5 represents hydrogen or hydroxyl, and R6 and R7 represent each independently hydrogen, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, perfluorinated lower alkyl, halogen, hydroxyl or nitro, or alternatively R6 and R7 are combined together to form a (a) group.
