Abstract:
Provided in the embodiments of the present application are a communication method and apparatus, wherein same are used for ensuring transmission security requirements of a multicast service data packet. The method comprises: an access device determining a user plane security activation state of a multicast DRB of a PDU session, and indicating the user plane security activation state of the multicast DRB to a terminal, wherein the user plane security activation state comprises whether integrity protection is activated and/or whether confidentiality protection is activated; and according to a user plane security activation state of a DRB that transmits multicast service data, the access device configuring a multicast PDCP layer entity. The access device can also determine a user plane security activation state of a unicast DRB, and indicate the user plane security activation state to the terminal, and modify a unicast PDCP layer entity. Not only are transmission security requirements of a multicast service data packet ensured, but transmission security requirements of a unicast service data packet are also ensured.
