Abstract:
Provided in the embodiments of the present application are a communication method and a communication apparatus. The method comprises: a mobility management network element sending a request message to a network slice selection function network element, wherein the request message is used for requesting slice information, and the slice information is used for indicating: a slice supported by a network element, and/or a slice mapping relationship, which is supported by the network element, between a home public land mobile network and a visited public land mobile network; and the mobility management network element receiving a response message for the request message that is sent by the network slice selection function network element, wherein the response message is used for indicating the slice information. By means of the technical solution, a mobility management network element does not have to make a request to a network slice selection function network element every time slice information is required, thereby reducing the impact on the network slice selection function network element.
