Abstract:
The present application relates to the technical field of communications, and provides a communication method and apparatus, solving the problem of shortage of network slice instance resources or communication congestion easily caused by selecting a network slice instance according to fixed correspondence between a network slice and the network slice instance. The method comprises: an access and mobility management function network element learning that load information of a first network slice instance reaches or exceeds a threshold, wherein the first network slice instance provides a service for a first session; sending indication information to a session management function network element corresponding to the first session, the indication information being used for triggering establishment of a second session; and determining a second network slice instance for the second session, wherein the first network slice instance and the second network slice instance correspond to the same network slice.
