A compression device (1) for performing chest compressions, comprising a compression apparatus (10) and a fixing bandage (20). The compression apparatus (10) comprises a body (101), which has a first connection portion (103), a second connection portion (104) and a first end face (S3) facing the chest; the device may surround the chest, and may, in a vertical extension thereof, have a first end section connected to the first connection portion (103) and a second end section opposite the first end section and connected to the second connection portion (104); the first connection portion (103) and the second connection portion (104) are spaced apart from each other by a first distance (D1) in a horizontal direction of the body (101), and are separated from the first end surface by a second distance (D2) in the vertical direction of the body (101), the first distance (D1) and the second distance (D2) being configured such that, when the compression device (1) performs compression, full-circle compression and full-circle release of the chest may be achieved by the compression apparatus (10) and the fixing bandage (20) working together. The compression device (1) has an improved compression effect.
