Title:
CONDUCTIVE PARTICLE AND ANISOTROPIC CONDUCTIVE ADHESIVE USING SAME
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2005/031759
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Disclosed is a conductive particle for anisotropic conductive adhesives which provides sufficient insulation against a fine-pitch connection terminal. A conductive particle (3) comprises a conductive core body (30) having a conductive surface. An insulating layer (31) is formed over the surface of the conductive core body (30). Insulating fine particles (such as SiO2 particles) (32) which are harder than the insulating layer (31) are embedded in the insulating layer (31). An insulating core body whose surface is covered with a conductive layer is preferably used as the conductive core body (30). The average particle diameter of the insulating fine particles (32) is preferably not more than 1/5 of the average particle diameter of the conductive core body (30). The insulating fine particles (32) are preferably embedded in the insulating layer (31) by hybridization.
