Abstract:
The embodiments of the present application relate to the technical field of communications, and and disclosed thereby are a connection reestablishment method and device, which may solve the problem of not being able to successfully reestablish a connection. The present method is applied to an application scenario where a core network device updates a source core network secret key to a first core network secret key in the process of a terminal switching from a source wireless access network device to a target wireless access network device. The method comprises: when the switch fails, the terminal returns to a source configuration and obtains a re-selection cell; the terminal sends a connection reestablishment request to a re-selection wireless access network device; the terminal receives a first message from the re-selection wireless access network device, the first message comprising indication information used for indicating that the access network secret key is derived from the core network secret key; the terminal obtains the first core network secret key according to the indication information and derives a first access network secret key according to the first core network secret key; and the terminal uses the first access network secret key to communicate with the re-selection wireless access network device.
