Title:
CONTINUOUS SEPARATION METHOD
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO2002055538
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method of separating a tagged protein product from a raw cell culture comprising the steps of providing a chromatography column com-prising an adsorption resin and a sample of cell culture, passing said sample over said column to capture tagged protein product to the resin, optionally washing the resin by passing a suitable liquid over the column, and eluting the protein product from the col-umn. During the whole processing, the sample, washing liquid and eluent are added at flow rates that maintain an essentially continuous flow throughout the column, and at least two samples are processed in parallel. The invention also relates to an apparatus especially suitable for performing a method of separating a tagged protein product from a raw cell culture.
