Abstract:
Provided is a control device for a machine tool, which can reduce adverse effects due to sudden changes in periodic fluctuations in the rotational speed of a main shaft while maintaining an effect of suppressing regenerative self-excited chatter vibration. The control device for a machine tool is provided with a fluctuation command calculation unit for generating a fluctuation command on the basis of a speed command of a main-shaft motor in the machine tool and a fluctuation condition for causing the rotational speed of the main-shaft motor to periodically fluctuate, and a speed control unit for controlling the rotational speed of the main-shaft motor on the basis of the speed command and the fluctuation command. The fluctuation command calculation unit generates the fluctuation command, in which the amplitude of the periodically fluctuating rotational speed and/or the frequency of the periodically fluctuating rotational speed is gradually changed, when the fluctuation condition changes.
