Abstract:
Provided is a control valve for a variable displacement compressor that suppresses Pd-Ps leakage and tilting of a valve element, that can effectively reduce sliding resistance, and consequently, that enables controllability and operational stability to be improved while making it more difficult for a malfunction or failure caused by foreign matter to occur. A sliding section 15e of a main valve element 15, which is freely slidably fitted into a guide hole 19 provided in a valve body 20, has an upper small clearance section 61 and a lower small clearance section 62 provided on upper and lower end portions, respectively, of the sliding section. Each of the upper and lower small clearance sections has a diameter Dx and a vertical length of a prescribed value or larger. Provided between the upper small clearance section 61 and the lower small clearance section 62 is a large clearance section 71 having a vertical length of 1 mm or greater and a diameter Dy that is smaller than Dx.
