Abstract:
The present invention provides a culturing device and a culturing method with which a plurality of culturing steps having different culturing liquid amounts and culturing techniques can be performed in stages in one culturing tank. This culturing device (100) is provided with a culturing tank (1) for culturing cells in a culturing liquid, a stirring machine (2) for stirring the culturing liquid, and replenishing devices (5, 7) for replenishing a fresh culture medium inside the culturing tank (1), wherein a lower space (110) inside the culturing tank (1) has a shape that has an inside width narrower than an upper space (120) and that protrudes downward. This culturing method includes performing standing culturing of cells in the culturing liquid in the lower space (110) inside the culturing tank (1), and after the standing culturing, replenishing a fresh culture medium inside the culturing tank (1) and performing stirred culturing of the cells in the culturing liquid that has been increased by replenishing with the fresh culture medium.
