Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a curtain airbag device for a vehicle, the curtain airbag device being configured so that the inflation of the curtain airbag is completed instantaneously using a reduced amount of gas, the curtain airbag can protrude by rapidly pressing and opening a housing space, and a sufficient stroke for pressing and opening the housing space can be easily ensured even if the curtain airbag is inflated and expanded from the housed position thereof toward the inner side of the vehicle interior.
[Solution] A curtain airbag device for a vehicle is provided with an assist airbag (9) which is disposed adjacent to a curtain airbag (5) on the side thereof facing the vehicle body, the curtain airbag (5) being set to a housed state by rolling or by other ways, and which is inflated to press the curtain airbag toward the interior material of the ceiling. The assist airbag is formed so as to protrude integrally with the curtain airbag and has an inflating chamber (11) communicating with the chamber (12) of the curtain airbag. The inflating chamber is folded back along a folding line extending along the longitudinal direction of the curtain airbag, and the folded state is maintained.
