Abstract:

The cutting insert (10) of the present invention has two end surfaces (20), each of the end surfaces having a main surface (34) as a seat surface, a peripheral surface that unites the two end surfaces and a plurality of cutting edges (32) formed at the intersection of each of the end surfaces and the peripheral surface. Each of the plurality of cutting edges (32) includes a corner edge (40) formed at the corner of each of the end surfaces, a main cutting edge (42) extending from an end of the corner edge (40) away from an intermediate plane that is perpendicular to a first axis (A) and includes a second axis (B) and a secondary edge (44) extending from the other end of the corner edge (40) toward the intermediate plane.
