Abstract:
A cutting insert (1) based an aspect of the present invention is provided with a cutting edge having, in order, a first corner cutting edge (5a), a flat cutting edge (6), a connection edge (8), a main cutting edge (7), and a second corner cutting edge (5b). The main cutting edge (7) has a curve section (71) protruding upward, a first straight line section (72) extending from the curve section (71) to the connection edge (8), and a second straight line section (73) extending from the curve section (71) to the second corner cutting edge (5b), when viewed from above, the flat cutting edge (6) and the main cutting edge (7) each have a straight line shape, and the connection edge (8) has a curved shape protruding outward, and when viewed from the side, the flat cutting edge (6), the connection edge (8), and the first straight line section (72) are located in a straight line.
