Abstract:

A data processing system which is constituted by a so-called neural network and which recognizes figures and voices using data of figures and voices. In the conventional image processors, a tremendous number of neurons are necessary to carry out a desired recognition processing from the whole pixel data. The data processing system of the invention has feature output means which produces features in the input data, and neural layers of a stacked structure corresponding to an abstraction degree of features, the neural layers having neurons in parallel which are connected to the feature output means and which produce data corresponding to the results of comparison of the threshold value with the sum of the features multiplied by a predetermined weight. The data to be processed are input to the neural layers that correspond to the abstraction degree.
