Abstract:
The present invention provides a data transfer device that transfers data in response to requests from a host computer and, in a case where file management information for a transfer destination device is created by the host computer after file transfer, that can reduce the processing burden on the host computer with regard to the update of management information. A data transfer device (2000) that receives a transfer request from a requesting device (1000), which serves as the host computer, is provided with a transfer control means (2100). The transfer control means (2100) transfers data in response to read requests and write requests included in a transfer request. Also, the data transfer device (2000) reduces the processing burden on the requesting device (1000) by writing to a transfer destination device (3400), according to a write request, management information sent from the requesting device (1000).
