Abstract:
The present invention relates to a device for controlling a motor for an electric vehicle and a method for controlling the same and, more particularly, to a device for controlling a motor for an electric vehicle, which may comprise windings of a switching unit and the motor in a poly-phase independent series-parallel winding manner and thus can allow distributed power control and reduce internal impedance so as to minimize copper loss of the windings, and a method for controlling the same. A device for controlling a motor for an electric vehicle of the present invention comprises: a motor (100) having a poly-phase independent type winding to be independently driven without being influenced by another phase; an encoder (200) for sensing a location of a rotor of the motor (100) and a sensor unit (250) for outputting a sensor signal using the location of the rotor sensed by the encoder; an input unit (300) for generating a speed command value signal for the motor (100); a mainboard unit (350) having a drive module (360) for outputting a driving signal for driving the motor (100) by using the speed command value signal and the sensor signal; a switching unit (400) for receiving the driving signal from the mainboard unit (350) and generating a driving signal for driving the motor (100); and a power supply unit (500) for supplying power to the switching unit (400) and the mainboard unit (350), wherein a wiring structure at a stator side of the motor (100) is a series-parallel structure wiring in which series wiring and parallel wiring are mixed.
