A device maintenance apparatus, used for maintaining a device to be maintained (1), the device to be maintained (1) comprising a first side and a second side which are opposite to one another, and the device maintenance apparatus comprising: at least one guide rail (3), the guide rail (3) extending in a first direction, the first direction being a direction pointing from the first side to the second side; a sliding mechanism (4) disposed on the guide rail (3) and used for supporting the device to be maintained (1); and a driving mechanism (5) for driving the sliding mechanism (4) and the device to be maintained (1) to move along the guide rail (3), wherein, the device maintenance apparatus is constructed such that: the device to be maintained (1) can move along the guide rail (3) so as to change a maintenance space located on the first side or the second side. Additionally provided is a device maintenance method, which allows the device to be maintained (1) to integrally move to a certain side, compressing a work space on one side of the device to be maintained (1), expanding the work space on the other side of the device to be maintained (1), and thus satisfying device maintenance space requirements.
