Abstract:
A device and method for controlling the fuel injection amount of an internal combustion engine with turbocharger, wherein it is investigated whether or not a supercharging pressure Pb rises to a specified value P0 or higher to judge whether a trouble occurs or not with a supercharging pressure regulating mechanism and, when it is judged that any trouble does not occur with the supercharging pressure regulating mechanism, a fuel injection amount Tp in normal state is calculated based on the operating conditions of the engine, whereas, if it is judged that a trouble occurs with the supercharging pressure mechanism, the fuel injection amount Tp in failure state which is less than the fuel injection amount in normal state is calculated, and then fuel injection control is performed based on the calculated fuel injection amount in normal state Tp or the fuel injection amount in failure state TP, whereby, if any trouble occurs with the supercharging pressure regulating mechanism, the fuel injection amount will be reduced and the supercharging pressure can be controlled to below an allowable upper limit through a reduction in generated torque.
