Abstract:
The device is intended for repairing the coating of cables and for insulating their single conductors. A chamber (2) of the device consists of first and second half-casings (6 and 7) and comprises a ferromagnetic plate (16) contacting a magnetic circuit (3) of an inductor (1), that plate being used for heating a tubular element (19) of the coating of the cable (13) placed into the chamber (2). The ferromagnetic plate (16) is mounted in a through opening (15) of the first half-casing (6) and is thermally insulated from the latter. The chamber (2) is provided with inlet and outlet openings (11 and 12) for the cable (13), their axes being oriented along the split plane (14).
