Provided are a device upgrade method and apparatus, and a chip, a storage medium and a computer program. The device upgrade method is executed by a client device. The client device realizes the accessing of bridged sub-devices by means of a bridged device, and the client device and the bridged sub-devices belong to different ecologies. The method comprises: acquiring first information, wherein the first information is used for indicating that a target sub-device has available upgrade information, and the target sub-device is at least one of the bridged sub-devices; and upgrading the target sub-device according to the first information. In the embodiments of the present application, when a target sub-device needs to be upgraded, the target sub-device can acquire, by means of a client device which is accessed by a bridged device across ecologies, first information required for the upgrade of the target sub-device, such that the client device upgrades the target sub-device without needing to additionally switch to another client device, thereby improving the user experience.
