Abstract:
Provided is a distance measuring device that can perform parallax detection with high accuracy even if using imaging elements having different pixel pitches, lenses having different focal distances, or distorted lenses. A distance measuring device according to one embodiment detects, by a matching degree determination of two images, image positions of at least two images of the same object on an imaging element, the imaging positions being imaged on the imaging element, and performs distance measurement. The images on the imaging element are sampled by pixel pitch of the imaging element, geometric correction and a re-sampling process are performed when carrying out the matching degree determination of the images during image position detection, and signal deterioration of the images occurring during the re-sampling process is corrected.
