Abstract:
Provided, as a dust core which uses an amorphous magnetic material having excellent magnetic characteristics and is able to achieve high mechanical strength and high thermal stability, while having low loss, is a dust core which contains a magnetic powder of an Fe-based Cr-containing amorphous alloy and an inorganic binder, and which is characterized in that: the surface oxide layer of the magnetic powder contains Fe, Cr, Bi and Mo; the surface oxide layer still contains Mo even in the effective thickness D (unit: nm) of the surface oxide layer as determined by the formula described below using a depth D1 (unit: nm) at which the oxygen content (unit: atom%) has the maximum value Imax and a depth D2 (unit: nm) which is deeper than D1 and at which the oxygen content is 1/2 of the maximum value Imax in the depth profile of the composition of the surface oxide layer; and the inorganic binder is composed of an oxide material containing Bi and Mo.
