Abstract:
A front cover is fixed in a simple and reasonable manner. In an electric hammer (1), a ridge (34) is formed on the outer surface of a barrel (8), a groove (33) is formed in the inner surface of a front cover (31), and the ridge (34) and the groove (33) are fitted together to fix the front cover (31) so as not to be rotatable relative to the barrel (8). A flange (35) which engages, in front of both the ridge (34) and the groove (33), with a step section (37) provided to the inner surface of the front cover (31) is provided to the peripheral edge of a lock ring (28), and the front cover (31) is prevented from moving forward by the engagement between the flange (35) and the step section (37).
