Abstract:
An EAS tag (20) is described that includes a resonant circuit (10) or other electrical component that is detectable by an EAS system. The EAS tag (20) is fabricated onto a dielectric substrate (22) using a conductive ink (28) that is applied using an ink printing technique. The resonant circuit (10) may be printed on both sides of the substrate, or may be printed in layers onto one substrate surface. According to a further aspect of the invention, the EAS tag may be deactivated by exposing it to an electrical, electromagnetic, or magnetic field of suitable strength.
