Abstract:
An electronic device according to various embodiments disclosed in the present document may comprise: a housing; a motion sensor; a plurality of optical sensors each including a light-emitting part and a light-receiving part; a sensor controller for controlling the plurality of optical sensors; and a processor operatively connected to the motion sensor and the sensor controller, wherein the plurality of optical sensors may be disposed on one surface of the housing so as to be brought into contact with a subject to be measured in multiple directions along the outer surface of the subject when the electronic device is worn on the subject. The processor may be configured to: determine the signal characteristics of each of the plurality of optical sensors; identify a current state of the subject on the basis of at least one of signals received through the motion sensor or the plurality of optical sensors; according to the current state of the subject, control driving of the light-emitting part of at least one of the plurality of optical sensors on the basis of the signal characteristics of each of the plurality of optical sensors; and select and receive an optical signal sensed through the light-receiving part of at least one of the plurality of optical sensors on the basis of the signal characteristics of each of the plurality of optical sensors.
