Title:
ELECTRONIC MONEY SENDING SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1997/002539
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
An electronic money server in which temporarily electronic money is temporarily stored is connected to a communication network. The remittance from a remitter to a remittee has two stages, the first one from the remitter to the electronic money server and the second one from the money server to the remittee. Upon receiving the electronic money from the remitter, the money server transmits an electronic mail to the effect that the server has received the electronic money to be sent to the remittee. Reading the electronic mail, the remittee receives the electronic money from the money server. In order to prevent the electronic money from being left in the money server for a long period, the server is provided with a time management device. In case the remittee has not yet received the money even after a prescribed period, the money server sends a reminder to the remittee or returns the electronic money to the remitter.
