Abstract:
Provided are an endoscope system and a method for operating the same which, when a lesion candidate region is detected, prevent diagnosis assistance information relating to the lesion candidate region from obstructing the visibility of a subject being observed even in situations where the movement of the subject being observed changes in an image. When a lesion candidate region (DR) is recognized by a recognition process, a diagnosis assistance information image is generated that displays diagnosis assistance information relating to the lesion candidate region (DR) on an observation image based on a first image signal. Whether to display or not display at least first diagnosis assistance information (76) among pieces of the diagnosis assistance information is controlled by the movement of the subject being observed in the diagnosis assistance information image.
