Abstract:
Provided are: an endoscope system that reduces false colors in a halation area when a display image is generated in which a calculated image is reflected in tones, the calculated image being obtained by using two images obtained by changing an illumination light and imaging, at different timings, a target being observed; a processor device; and a method of operating the endoscope system. The endoscope system 10 is provided with: an image acquiring unit 54 which acquires a first image obtained by using a first illumination light and a second image obtained by using a second illumination light at a different timing from that of the first image; a halation area detecting unit 74 which detects a halation area; a calculated image generating unit 73 which performs calculations using the first image and the second image and generates the calculated image; a display image generating unit 77 which generates a display image in which the calculated image is reflected by tones; and a tone changing unit 75 which changes the tone of the halation area in the display image.
