Abstract:
An engineering tool according to an embodiment of the present invention is provided with a hardware-allocation-data storage unit, an allocation-condition storage unit, and a tool process unit. The hardware-allocation-data storage unit stores hardware allocation data that indicates individual hardware allocation for a host operating system (OS) executed by a controller as well as a guest OS operating on a virtual machine realized on that host OS and that is downloaded to the controller. The allocation-condition storage unit stores hardware allocation conditions for the host OS and the guest OS. The tool process unit displays a setting screen for entering hardware allocation data on a display unit, and saves the hardware allocation data entered via the setting screen in the hardware-allocation-data storage unit when the entered hardware allocation data is determined as satisfying the allocation conditions stored in the allocation-condition storage unit, while not saving the entered hardware allocation data in the hardware-allocation-data storage unit when the entered hardware allocation data is determined as not satisfying the allocation conditions.
